Welcome ALL to our Carolina Cuisine network! This site is intended to inform, entertain, and unite the Carolinas, our food experiences, and cooks of all skill levels who like to explore food cultures. You’ll find recipes and articles on foods and dishes commonly found in North and South Carolina. I add content or work on this new venture whenever this working mama can. I am a traveler who enjoys exploring new regions and foods of America. I just happen to be from the Carolinas and see it’s food influences spread across the states.
The Carolinas have some unique dishes that set us apart from the rest of the country. As a professionally trained Chef with experience in the historic French quarter of Charleston, I learned the ins and outs of preparing seafood fresh off the boat as well as locally raised meats and farm fresh veggies. Preserving the recipes and history of our food culture for the next generations and teaching others is my passion. Let’s explore the traditional recipes and ingredients of these southern coastal states together here in the network. We’re talking about buttermilk biscuits, sweet tea, Carolina red rice, muscadine wine, shrimp, squash, okra, collard greens with fat back and corn bread y’all. Let’s dig in!
